"We just celebrated Baloo's first birthday, May 5, 2008. "My relationship with Emerald Puppies began about three years ago after losing a beautiful 8 year old Westie. I was heartbroken when Austin passed. I was so in love with the breed that I knew I needed another Westie for me and to keep Robbie, my oldest Westie company.
I spent a lot of time researching a lot of breeders on line and locally and then I hit the jackpot. I found Emerald Puppies on the Internet (thank goodness for computers). After reading about the Irish Westies, my interest was piqued! Both my previous westies were from the USA and wondered what was so different about Irish Westies. So I called, and spoke with Marie. She explained about the breeding laws and how strict they are and Irish westies were healthier because of this. Having a healthy Westie was my top priority. She sent me pictures and I was hooked - my first emerald Irish Westie is Alex - a beautiful, healthy, happy, sweet dog who will turn three this month!
I found myself calling Marie for another Westie, after my Robbie passed. I got my second emerald Irish Westie - Morgan - a beautiful, healthy, happy, energetic sweetie who just turned 9 months. Both Alex and Morgan get along great. I couldn't be happier with my choice.

"Buddy is doing great. Buddy is growing everyday and as expected at his age he loves to play and run around. My daughter Catarina loves him and she has a great playing partner. He has a great temperament and very very sweet. We take him for walks everyday along with my daughter when she goes for her bicycle ride. Buddy loves to lay down and just cuddle next to us in the evenings while watching TV. "We adopted our Wheaten Swheatie, Maggie from Marie at Emerald Puppies about 3.5 years ago. Maggie was 14 weeks old and has been a wonderful addition to our family. "From the moment Ibiza arrived at our home he acted as if he had lived here for years. His deep, dark eyes are those of an old soul and his intelligence is amazing. He is a little guy, just what I requested, but I never dreamed I'd be so lucky in adopting without choosing in person. He has a winning personality and even won my husband over in less than two hours (he was hesitant about bringing in another dog to the family). My 3 1/2 year old minature poodle, Elli, is an alpha and control is her specialty. Ibiza has charmed her and the changes in her personality, for the good, have let us know even more how special Ibiza is. His baby teeth are just about gone which Elli is
grateful for since he would hang from her ears and pom pom tail when they played. Potty training is going well and he caught on to the "tap the tambourine when you want to go outside to do business" quickly and I know soon we will be able to eliminate the puppy pads. We laugh constantly at his 5 different types of barking, not excessive, but you never know what is going to come out of his mouth. He is just the cutest in looks and personality. I must also say what a pleasure it was working with you in adopting Ibiza. You are a special person and were so kind to give me the time I needed when our issue came up and I just know that God spoke to you and said that Ibiza needed us and we needed him.
I have always been a poodle person but that has now changed. I am now a Havanese and a poodle person." |

"I am so happy that I purchased my yorkie puppy "Eleanor" from Marie. I found her website (Emerald Puppies) on the internet, called her and the entire experience from beginning to end was so easy; we chatted several times and she explained to me the strict breeding regulations in Ireland. I have had several yorkies before and they all had some type of health problems. We were coming to New York for Christmas that year so we were able to pick up Eleanor at Marie's house. When we picked her up she was waiting for us in a little playpen and Marie had everything ready for us. What a great experience! Eleanor will be 3 in September and she has the most wonderful temperament, is healthy and just a fabulous little dog.
She is a real people person. If I decide to get Eleanor a little brother or sister I will definitely call Marie. "When I arrived at Marie's house I felt at ease as it was obvious to me she cared a lot about the puppies and their health. She introduced me to Blondie, who was the most adorable little dog. I asked about her personality and Marie said she seemed to be very playful but would calm down and fall asleep in your arms instantly once you picked her up. Well, that's pretty much Blondie!! She is a year and a half old now. We never had any health issues. Blondie is a perfect companion being by my side 24 hours a day. She even sleeps with me. She loves being babied and held and cuddled and has so much faith in her surroundings. It is obvious Blondie has never experienced anything negative and just thinks the whole world is there for her to love.
She also adores kids. I don't know why I waited so long to get my puppy! In a few years I will go back to Emerald Puppies for another one. "We adopted Frowny in March 2005 and she is just about to celebrate her 4th birthday. She is a delight and a dream and the best pup I could ever want. Frowny is a true NY city dog and loves chasing squirrels any chance she gets. She is also the self-proclaimed 'queen of tummy rubs' and will roll over for one any time, even on a sidewalk mid-walk if a friendly stranger offers. It is because of her disposition that we decided to add another puppy. In 2006, we adopted Jelly (turned 2 in Sept 2008) and what a firecracker she is! She has been such a vibrant addition to the family and Frowny (though she might not admit it in public) loves having a sister and lifelong playmate. Every day Jelly makes us smile as she is so in love with life. From her "jelly rolls" in the grass to lizard chasing in the garden to being the official welcoming committee for any animal (including cats!), Jelly is our family clown and reminds
us all to stop and smell the roses. We have many friends with Westies and are pleased that our girls have none of the issues that our friends do. No skin problems, allergies, etc. We have two healthy, happy Westies and could not be more pleased! If we ever decide to expand our brood, rest assured we'll make the trek back out to Long Island." |

"I got Jimmy in January of 2008 and I love my puppy. He has the biggest personality. He loves to watch TV and bark at the animals on the screen.
